What are the highlights of your exhibit?
In October 2007, Mitsubishi Electric Corporation established 2021 as the target year for Environmental Vision 2021.
The guidelines are to “make positive contributions to the earth and its people through technology and actions” and call for the company to work toward a sustainable society by utilizing our wide-ranging, sophisticated technologies, as well as by promoting proactive, consistent actions by our employees.
Environmental Vision 2021 sets concrete targets for preventing global warming, including a 30% reduction in CO2 emissions in production processes by the entire Mitsubishi Electric Group and a 30% reduction in CO2 emissions during product use.
We are actively developing energy-saving products to meet these targets.

Additionally, we are working to develop a recycling-oriented society by promoting the concept of the 3Rs (reduce, reuse, and recycle).
The aim is for zero waste emissions and preserving biodiversity.
At the EPIF 2010, along with our Environmental Vision 2021 concept, we will introduce environmentally friendly products under the theme Eco-friendly Homes.
This exhibition will introduce environmentally friendly products that people can use in their everyday lives, including energy-conserving home appliances and solar power generation systems, as well as office building air-conditioners and elevators for home use.
What are your expectations from the 2010 EPIF?
March 2008 Vietnam Exhibition
This will be the fifth time that we have exhibited at the EPIF.
I feel that the concern for ecological issues in the Asian region increases each time we participate and that the significance of the fair is also increasing.
We hope to demonstrate our environmental contributions as a general electronics manufacturer of products for use in a broad range of fields, from households in the Asian region to outer space. Furthermore, by introducing environmental technologies used in familiar home appliances, we are hoping to contribute to the increased use of environmentally friendly products.
What is your message to those attending the EPIF?
The Mitsubishi Group is currently researching, developing, manufacturing, and marketing electrical appliances such as air-conditioners that people in the Asian region use in their everyday lives.
In Indonesia, which we believe will continue economic growth at an increased rate, we hope to tackle the difficult problem of reconciling environmental conservation and economic development along with the Indonesian people through the contributions of our group’s technology and activities.
We hope that the hands-on displays of our environmental technologies and products aimed at preventing global warming and encouraging a recycling-oriented society at the EPIF will give visitors a good grasp of our efforts to make everyone’s daily life more eco-friendly.

What are the highlights of your exhibit?
In June 2009, under a new mission and corporate image of “positioning our management base in ecology,” to become a company that delivers an “abundant lifestyle culture” in the fields of hygiene, beauty, and health to people all over the world,”, we started making “Kao Environmental Statement” both publicly and internally.
The “Kao Environmental Statement” contain information on our efforts for reducing our environmental impact in relation to the supply of raw materials, production, logistics, and marketing of products. The statement also contain information on our policy for product development, which is to reduce the environmental impact during the process of use and then disposal by the customers (use and disposal).

At the 2010 EPIF in this exhibition, we will introduce our current activities such as water conservation/energy conservingation style product development technologies, initiatives towards reduceing packing materials, and energy conservation contributions we are making to the industrial sector under the slogan “ “eco together” with customers”, one of the three parts of the general slogan of “eco together”.
In particular, we will be demonstrateing our water conservingation technologies at our booth, and hope that many people will stop in our booth to learn about this technology.
Furthermore, under the theme of “Technology and Chemicals that are friendliness to the environment”, we will also be introducing a wide range of Kao Chemical products available to the manufacturing industry.
What are your aims and expectations of the EPIF exhibition?

Because of the worldwide view of the globally recognized crisis concern overing climate change, our main aim is to increase public awareness understanding of Kao Corporation’s decision to reduce our environmental impact burden in all areas of our operations, aswhich are expressed in “Kao Environmental Statement”, to all stakeholders who visit the exhibition. Additionally, through increased understanding of Kao Corporation’s stance on environmental management under the three “eco together” actions, we hope aim to increase the trust in and expectations of the Kao Group, Kao Indonesia, and Kao Indonesia Chemicals companies.
What is your message to those attending the EPIF?
Through our two companies in Indonesia, namely Kao Indonesia and Kao Indonesia Chemicals, the Kao Group provides a wide range products that are used on daily basis in many Indonesian homes, and in a broad range of industrial fields.
Our safe, secure production process is of course of paramount importance. At the same time, the concept of environmental consideration in product manufacture and technology development is essential and becoming a will be an indispensible concept in future global megatrends.
Naturally, Kao Group considers environmental concerns at the product design stage and production process stages, but we also believe that products must be designed to reduce the environmental burden when at the point of use and eventually disposed of.
Furthermore, even in the chemical industry field, we are continuing to pursue “eco together with customers” activities by offering through provision of products and technologies developed in an eco-friendly manner to the manufacturing industries of Indonesia and Southeast Asia.
I hope that the EPIF is event will enable all of those who visit our booth exhibit to gain a clearer picture of our future developments in Indonesia by viewingseeing first-hand the details of our efforts to realize “eco together” activities. Furthermore, I hope that visitors will gain a deeper understanding of the Kao Group as we continue to act in harmony with “Enriching lives, in harmony with nature” activities for our children’s generation.
